"People start to heal the moment they feel heard"

CHERYL RICHARDSON

About Me

Lola Opacic Lunot, MSW, RSW

Are you navigating a difficult chapter in life—whether it's addiction, grief, parenting challenges, or relationship struggles? You don’t have to do it alone. I'm a registered social worker with nearly 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families through complex and deeply personal issues including mental health, addictions, trauma, domestic violence, blended family dynamics, and more.

Over the years, I’ve worked in diverse and high-intensity settings—from inner-city schools in the Downtown Eastside to hospitals (ER, maternity, acute care) and community organizations such as the Ministry of Children and Family Development and VACFSS. Currently, I provide care in inpatient psychiatry, where I’ve spent the past four years helping individuals in crisis find stability and hope.

What truly shapes my practice, however, is not only my professional background but also my lived experience. As a first-generation immigrant and former refugee, I deeply understand the challenges of cultural adjustment, identity, and resilience. I’m also part of a blended family, having stepped into the role of mother to two young boys who lost their mother to breast cancer.

These personal experiences allow me to bring empathy, relatability, and a genuine understanding to the families and individuals I support.

If you're looking for someone who brings both clinical expertise and real-life perspective, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Together, we can create a path toward healing, clarity, and stronger connections.

I believe in a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and intersectional approach to counselling. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. The counselling approaches I utilize include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Solution-Focused Therapy
